Toto and His Sisters is an intimate documentary directed by Alexander Nanau that follows ten-year-old Totonel and his two older sisters growing up in a Bucharest housing project marked by poverty and addiction while their mother is in prison. As they try to navigate school, friendships, and the harsh realities surrounding them, the film closely observes their everyday struggles but also their resilience and small moments of hope.
