European Film Academy Master Class - Deadline Extended

Animation Today

The multi-disciplinary workshop (9 – 15 September 2013, Ludwigsburg/Germany) in co-operation with the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction is equally addressed to experienced European animation creators from the classic animation industry, those with a background in games, or the independent scene - all are welcome.

The workshop will be offered in a short term training format of seven days including the arrival and departure day. In a mixture of group sessions, screenings, case studies and lectures, but with a focus on hands-on exercises, the workshop will allow the participants to gain a profound knowledge of the creation of an animation film covering all stadiums of a classic animation production: idea, story, design, project bible, storyboard, animatic, layout, animation, scoring and exploitation.

Held by author, designer and director Andreas Hykade, the workshop will be accompanied by Ari Folman, Phil Mulloy, David OReilly and Izabela Plucinska who will share their individual approach to the respective “topic of the day”.

Andreas Hykade has been creating animation films since the mid-90s.
