MAIA, an advanced training programme for emerging European producers with a specific focus on Eastern European Countries announces the 3 residential workshops of 2013 edition: Workshop 1 – Creative Aspects of Development (Italy, May 27 – 31 / application deadline April 19), Workshop 2 Legal & Financial Issues (Slovakia, June 17 – 21 / application deadline May 3), Workshop 3 – Marketing & Distribution (Croatia, September 30 – October 4 / application deadline August 30).

SOAP! - 5-day film workshop in Marseille

Calling for participants

NISI MASA is calling for 26 participans from all over Europe to join them for a 5-day film workshop taking place in Marseille, France, February 2013. During the workshop participants will be making a 7 x 10 minute webseries by mixing the conventions of a TV SOAP OPERA to different film genres.

EKRAN - International Training Program

Call for Application

EKRAN (the Polish word for “screen”) is an international training program focusing on the creative pre-production process based on shooting practice. EKRAN focuses participants on exploring, identifying and refining the tone and visual language of film. Participation in EKRAN is free.

Scriptwriting Marathon

Call for Projects

To all scriptwriters, 

as part of GENERATOR, an intensive sample of workshops set up by NISI MASA on a yearly basis, as well as seminars, forums and other round table discussions about young filmmaking in Europe, NISI MASA organises a scriptwriting marathon! From 25 to 27 January 2013 in Strasbourg, France, NISI MASA is looking for 12 young European scriptwriters between 18 and 35, with a short film project that they wish to develop through a dynamic workshop.

A second edition of a networking and an educational platform Visegrad Film Forum took place at The Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts on 17th – 20th of October 2012 in Bratislava, Slovakia and was focused on the Low-budget Film Production.

The Director's Journey from the Idea to the Film

Anca Damian, Romanian film director, cinematographer, screenwriter and producer will give master class entitled The Director's Journey from the Idea to the Film, through the Creative and Production Process of a Innovative Film at VFF 2012. Anca Damian made her name with hybrid documentary Crulic - The Path to Beyond (2011).

Éva Vezér

Promotion of the European Cinema

Éva Vezér is a film and audiovisual expert, who has been working in different fields related to the film and television business, among others at the sales department of Hungarofilm, at the distribution and exhibition company Budapest Film. She was marketing manager of the first joint-venture film distribution company, UIP Duna Film. She worked at the satellite public TV channel of cultural character, Duna Television first as Head of the Program Acquisition Department, later on as Programming Director.

Udayan Prasad

Point of View: Seeing the World through the Eyes of the Characters

Film director and EKRAN programme lecturer Udayan Prasad will run master class entitled Point of View: Seeing the World through the Eyes of the Characters at VFF 2012. Udayan Prasad is a tutor for a number of international workshops and programmes on directing and scriptwriting. He has given lectures at the British film schools, at the famous London Film School and The National Film & Television School and also at the Polish film schools, at our partner institution The National Film Television and Theatre School in Lodz and at The Wajda School in Warsaw.

Hervé Schneid

The Rhythm of the Scene

Hervé Schneid, one of the most respected European film editors, will give master class entitled The Rhythm of the Scene at the VFF 2012. 
Hervé Schneid has cut more than forty films of different genres but he has become best known for his long-lasting collaboration with French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet on films Delicatessen (1991), Alien: Resurrection (1997), Amélie (2001), A Very Long Engagement (2004). Their last project The Young and Prodigious Spivet (2013), English language 3D family feature with Helena Bonham-Carter, is in the post-production these days.
