Dramaturgy in the editing room is a new MIDPOINT workshop focused on film projects in the rough-cut stage. The four-day workshop offers dramaturgy consultations with Hollywood editor and Professor Norman Hollyn. Following the workshop, participants will have another opportunity to consult their reworked film material during an online session.
EKRAN, organized by Wajda Studio and Wajda School, is a training program focusing on the creative pre-production process based on shooting practice. Deadline for applications is December 2nd, 2013. Participation in this program is free.
EUROPEAN SHORT PITCH is an initiative aimed at promoting European coproduction of short films which combines a scriptwriting workshop in residency, an on-line session and a Coproduction Forum bringing together scriptwriters and industry professionals from all over Europe.
Vienna plays host to the LET‘S CEE Film Festival once a year. The festival features exclusively high-quality productions from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), including the Caucasus region and Turkey. While the historical and geographical proximity to Austria might suggest otherwise, films from those countries have had a hard time finding their way into Austrian cinemas. This certainly has nothing to do with a lack of quality of the films in question. On the contrary - the Central and Eastern European cinema has a history of filmmaking which is probably as long as its tradition is great.
From August 24th until the 31st Zadar will become the meeting ground for film enthusiasts and professionals who will have the opportunity to enjoy in interesting film meetings and film titles: new art-house films, first features, documentaries, short films, mainstream titles. The films in the main programme, which consists of films made in the European coproduction, will be rated by a renowned international film jury whose members are: Arta Dobroshi, Krzysztof Zanussi, Shigeru Umebayashi, Dean Šoša and Christian Jeune.

The EFA Master Class 2013 ANIMATION TODAY is dedicated to modern animation. During the week, participants will form a team and create an animation film from the original idea to the completed film.
The TransAtlantic Talent Lab is for young talents from Europe and America who want to meet up with other like-minded individuals in Reykjavík and make first hand contact with film producers and other professionals for help and consulting on your first feature film. You'll be given the chance to pitch your project to a number of experienced producers in attendance.
The 6th Summer Workshop Mphilms (31st July – 11th August 2013, Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia) is designed for 20 young people in the age of 15 to 25 interested in film, photography and performance, coming from Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Czech Republic.
